Situated along the mighty Columbia River, with the majestic Cascade Range as a backdrop, Clark County offers a mix of urban areas, historic landmarks, rural farmlands and deep forests. The county has abundant urban and rural parks and natural areas for outdoor activities. North Clark County has hiking trails, rivers and waterfalls, and south and west Clark County have more than 40 miles of Columbia River frontage. Regional and local parks are numerous, with some designed to accommodate youth ball sports, adult ball sports, Master Gardener demonstration and horses. The county fairgrounds and event center host a variety of activities all year, including the award-winning Clark County Fair in early August.

the cradle of the pacific northwest

Dubbed the Cradle of the Pacific Northwest, the county is rich in history. Native peoples lived here long before the British established Fort Vancouver and the U.S. Army built Officers Row.
